FAQ
- Frequently Asked Questions about
MINEROL
Q.
What is MINEROL?
A. MINEROL
is an organically chelated trace mineral complex, specifically
formulated for maximum bio-availability.
Q.
What does it contain?
A. MINEROL
contains all the micronutrients necessary for the mineral
requirement of ruminants in a protected form of mineral proteinates,
amino acids and organic acids.
Q:
What benefit does MINEROL provide?
A: MINEROL provides trace
mineral adequacy for beef and dairy cattle for maximum weight
gain and milk production.
Q.
How does it work?
A. The mineral nutrients contained
in MINEROL,
through a large array of metabolic pathways effect the animal
productive capacity. For example, low cobalt prevents microbial
cell division in the rumen resulting in ill-thrift.
The Cobalt-proteinates in MINEROL
enhance microbial cell division, and the increased proliferation
of microbes means greater ruminal food digestion efficiency,
especially the cellulose breakdown into glucose, providing
greater energy and protein input and thus greatly increases
animal production levels.
Q.
When is MINEROL applied?
A. MINEROL
can be administered anytime you handle your livestock. Although
the following times are recommended.:
-
Pre-lambing
- At marking
- At weaning
- Prior to joining
- Prior to feed change
- During feed shortages
- Early Spring & Autumn
- When feed is nutritionally poor.

Q.
How long will a single dose work for?
A. Eight weeks for moderate deficiencies
and six weeks for severe deficiencies of one or more micronutrients.
Q.
What are the withholding periods?
A. No withholding period is required
with MINEROL.
The organically chelated micronutrients instantly convert
microbial proteins, or are absorbed in the rumen, abomasum,
small intestines or duodenum.
Q.
What are the indications for a MINEROL
need?
A. Inefficient reponses to supplementary
feeding points to deficiencies or inbalances of micronutrients,
also they compromise production and reproduction. Forages
are typically low in Zinc, Cobalt, Selenium and Copper.
Q.
How is the need for MINEROL determined?
A. Micronutrient deficiencies are best
assessed from animal parameters rather than dietary parameters.
It can be determined from blood serum levels, specific tissue
levels or enzyme activity levels.
Q.
Why not use mineral salts?
A. Trace mineral adequacy is difficult
to ensure when the only sources are base materials and inorganic
supplements. When production efficiency is modest or specific
problems recur frequently, it is most important to take some
insurance by supplying MINEROL
in true organic form.

Q.
Why doesnt mineral salt work?
A. The reason for this that the mineral
elements are directly antagonistic to each other and in the
inorganic salt form also have diverse adsortion antagonists
(such as phytates, oxalates, phosphates, sulphides and various
fibre factions). Specific minerals compete for the same adsorption
pathways and hence an excess of one mineral can impede uptake
of others (ie competition between Zinc Calcium, Iron,
Phosphorous Sulphur, Selenium Sulphur and Copper
Molybdenum.
Q. How does MINEROL
eliminate nutrient antagonism?
A. Trace elements in MINEROL
are stable, pre-complexed entities and are resistant to precipitation
as an insoluble end-production reaction. Yet these trace elements
in MINEROL
are readily available for high level of adsorption and use
within the animal.

Q.
How is MINEROL applied?
A. MINEROL
may be applied as a drench or through a metered pump into
the troughs, or as a drip into an olga after grain-crushing.
MINEROL
Pasture Spray may be applied at any pasture growth stage when
additional benefits of increased nitrogen fixation and organic
matter decomposition will result.

Q.
Packs Sizes for MINEROL?
A. MINEROL
is available in 20 ltr; 200 ltr; and 1000 ltr tanks (Totes).
Q.
Handling & Storage of MINEROL?
A. Normal precautions should be taken
during application to avoid eye contact (please read label
for details). Store below 40 Deg. C in the closed original
container in a ventilated area. Do not strore for prolonged
periods in direct sunlight.

Q.
What proof that MINEROL
is this good?
A. For the last fifteen years
a growing body of evidence reflects positive production
and nutritional responses to organic minerals when included
as a balanced adequate diet by conventional standard.

SUPPLEMENT FOR SHEEP & CATTLE; TO INCREASE DIETARY
INTAKE OF CERTAIN TRACE MINERALS WHERE INTAKE BY LIVESTOCK
MAY BE LOW
