STATEMENT
MINEROL Country Wide acknowledges and respects the privacy
of individuals. We appreciate the importance of protecting your
personal information when you supply your personal information to
us.
We support and endorse the National Privacy Principles contained
in the Privacy Amendment (Private Sector) Act 2000 (“the Act”) as
amended from time to time and will comply with these principles
whenever personal information is collected by us.
This Privacy Statement explains the MINEROL Country Wide
general policy relating to the collection, storage and use of personal
information.
What is Personal Information?
Personal information is generally defined as information or an opinion
about a person from which a person’s identity is apparent or can
be reasonably ascertained.
Collection of Personal Information
In accordance with the National Privacy Principles, we will only
collect personal information from you where it is necessary for
providing services to you in connection with the supply of our products.
The collection of personal information for our business purposes
will be minimal, private and where it is reasonable and practicable
to do so, we will collect such information with your prior knowledge
and consent.
If you wish to place a product order with us, you may contact us
and we will send you an order form directly. From the details you
provide on your order form, we will collect your name, mailing address,
phone and facsimile numbers, and your email address.
Use and Disclosure of Personal Information
Our policy is only to use personal information for the purposes
for which it was collected and any directly related purpose.
We may send advertising mail to our customers where the advertising
mail is related to the purpose for which your personal information
was collected. Should you no longer wish to receive promotional
information from us, please advise our office and our records will
be amended.
In the course of our business, we will not disclose your personal
information to a third party except with your consent, nor will
we disclose such information to other institutions or authorities
unless disclosure is required by law or other regulation.
Security of and access to personal information
We will take reasonable steps to protect your personal information
from misuse and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification
or disclosure and to ensure that the information is complete, accurate
and up-to-date at the time of collection.
All personal information is held on a business software program
called “Quickbooks 2002”. To protect the personal information we
hold, we have taken reasonable steps to ensure the security of the
information held on “Quickbooks 2002”. We will remove personal information
from our records when it is no longer required (except where archiving
is required).
Customers are welcome to request personal information we hold about
them or to obtain a more detailed explanation about how we handle
such information. Please contact our office with any queries.
Should you become aware that personal information held by us is
not accurate, complete or up-to-date, please notify our office and
we will take steps to correct any errors or omissions.
Additional Information on Privacy
If you are not satisfied with the way we handle your personal information,
you have a right to complain and we advise that to lodge a complaint,
please notify our office in writing. We will process your complaint,
investigate the matter, and contact you as soon as possible.
